THE HELL OF HOMELESSNESS IN 360˚
THE IDEA
To make an edgy and artistic East London neighbourhood more aware of the rising homeless crisis in their community and to support Spitalfields Crypt Trust, an East London charity offering help and rehabilitation to addicts and the homeless.
VR is gaining popularity quickly and one area of interest in particular makes a ton of sense: empathy. So we created a narrative 360˚ film where the viewer became the captured and terrorised prisoner of a madman.
But in the end, the twist left viewers with much more than they expected:
The Killer is homelessness personified.
The film not only drew a crowd during our premiere, it also drew a crowd online. VR apps and sites asked to feature it. VR festivals emailed us to enter the film. BBC Click featured it. And a VR Cinema Franchise picked it up to show in theatres all over Europe, with proceeds going to Spitalfields Crypt Trust.
